'REMEMBER US' SUMMARY:
Lucas Thompson is sentenced to community service, entailing him to deliver food parcels to the elderly where he finds himself on the doorstep of dementia sufferer; Arthur Miller.
SYNOPSIS:
Remember Us follows the story of a black teenager named Lucas, played by Feisal Bizimana, who is sentenced to community service for attempting to shoplift alcohol.
As part of his community service Lucas finds himself at the house of an elderly widowed man, Mr Miller, played by Rob Trend, who is suffering from dementia.
The two characters begin to slowly bond as Mr Miller realises that Lucas needs some guidance in life, and the pair learn a great deal from each other, despite being generations apart. But Lucas finds himself being pulled between two different worlds – the world of crime where he must prove his loyalty to his friends or a world of promise, friendship and love. Director, Kaitlyn Boxall said: “The inspiration stemmed from my desire to portray underrepresented topics such as dementia and discrimination."
